A close friend of the late tycoon, identified as Mulinge, has now opened up about Kasyoki’s final moments, revealing the pain and helplessness he witnessed at the accident scene.
According to Mulinge, he had spent part of the weekend with Kasyoki before heading home earlier on Sunday.
Later that night, past midnight, he received several missed calls alerting him that his longtime friend had been involved in a serious accident.
He immediately rushed from Utawala to the Green Park area, a drive that took him about 20 minutes.
When he arrived, he found Kasyoki’s vehicle crushed under a truck’s container. “I touched his body inside the wreckage, and it was still warm,” Mulinge recounted emotionally.
A co-driver at the scene told him that Kasyoki had survived for about 30 minutes after the crash, pleading desperately for help in his local Kamba language.
“He kept begging to be lifted out, saying ‘bro, niinulie.’ It broke my heart knowing he was alive and waiting for rescue,” Mulinge said.
Attempts to save him, however, faced serious challenges. Mulinge revealed that they contacted authorities at Athi River to request a crane, but officials reportedly declined to send one at night, citing operational restrictions.
Despite pleading that a life was at stake, they were told they had to wait until morning.
By the time the rescue team eventually arrived at 8 a.m. on Monday, it was too late. Kasyoki’s body had grown cold inside the mangled Ford Ranger. Click here.
