"Ndiye Huyu" Photos Of Beryl Nafula, the Woman Accused of Killing Reverend Ndumia

A woman accused of involvement in the killing of Julius Ndumia has appeared before the Nakuru Law Courts alongside her alleged accomplice as investigations into the shocking murder continue.

The suspect, identified as Beryl Nafula Otenyo, was arraigned together with Felix Odinga Okumu over the death of the cleric, whose body was discovered within the compound of PCEA Tabuga Parish in Bahati Constituency on May 4.

According to detectives handling the case, the two suspects were allegedly found in possession of the pastor’s mobile phone and SIM cards shortly after the killing.

Investigators told the court that the recovered devices could provide critical evidence in establishing the events leading to the pastor’s death as well as activities that may have occurred afterward.

Police further informed the court that the mobile phone and SIM cards would be forwarded to a forensic laboratory in Nairobi for detailed analysis.

Detectives are particularly interested in tracing suspected M-Pesa transactions believed to have been conducted after the cleric’s death.

The prosecution had initially requested permission to detain the suspects for 30 days to allow investigators more time to complete inquiries and gather evidence.

However, the court reduced the detention period and allowed police to hold the two suspects for 21 days at Menengai Police Station.

In its ruling, the court stated that investigators had presented sufficient grounds to justify continued detention, although it noted that the duration sought by the prosecution was excessive under the circumstances.

The suspects are expected to remain in custody until June 3, when the matter will be mentioned again in court.

The murder of Reverend Ndumia has sparked anger and concern among residents of Bahati and members of the church community, many of whom have demanded swift investigations and justice for the slain cleric.

Religious leaders and local residents have described the killing as disturbing, saying it has heightened fears over insecurity and violent crimes targeting religious figures.

The case has also renewed debate around the safety of clergy members and the need for enhanced security measures within places of worship.

Investigators are expected to continue recording witness statements and analysing forensic evidence in the coming days as they work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the pastor’s death.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculation as the investigations proceed through the legal process.

The killing has continued to attract national attention due to the brutality of the incident and the involvement of suspects allegedly linked to the victim through recovered personal items.

Police say further updates will be provided once forensic analysis and additional investigations are completed.
