The incident, which shocked residents, was reported on the morning of September 7, 2025.
According to police reports, one of the victims, 26-year-old Rachael Njoki, had been strangled. Her lifeless body was found lying on the floor.
The second victim, a woman whose identity had not yet been confirmed, was discovered on the bed with multiple stab wounds to her chest and stomach.
Her body was lying in a pool of blood, painting a grim scene that has left the community in fear.
The discovery was made by the landlady of the building. She had gone to check on her tenants after noticing unusual silence and the fact that the house had remained locked for a long time.
When her knocks went unanswered, she pushed the door open and was met with the horrific sight of the bodies.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) quickly arrived at the scene. A blood-stained kitchen knife believed to have been used in the killings was recovered inside the house.
Forensic experts also combed through the area for other evidence that could help unravel what led to the murders.
Police confirmed that a man suspected to be Njoki’s boyfriend was arrested for questioning.
Investigators believe he may have been involved in the killings, but they are still working to establish the motive. Early reports suggest he might have acted alone, although detectives are not ruling out the possibility of other accomplices.
The bodies were later moved to the Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary where post-mortems are expected to be conducted.
Relatives of Njoki arrived at the scene in tears, struggling to come to terms with the shocking loss. Residents of Ololunga described her as a friendly and hardworking woman who had lived in the area for several years.
The murders have sparked widespread concern in the community, with many calling for tighter security in rental houses.
Locals urged landlords and neighbors to be more vigilant, especially when they notice suspicious activity around tenants.
Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and promised to deliver justice for the victims.
