"Umefikia Hapa?" Kenyans React to Moses Kuria's Post on X Over His Announcement to Vie for the Gatundu South Parliamentary Seat

Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) have erupted after Hon. Moses Kuria surprised many by posting a registration form to vie for Gatundu South MP on a UDA ticket.

For months, Kuria had been giving signals that he was aiming much higher, with talks around a presidential ambition and even earlier whispers about the Nairobi governor race.

His sudden shift to a parliamentary seat has therefore left many Kenyans confused and questioning his political direction.

What has made the situation even more controversial is the fact that Moses Kuria is the leader and founder of Chama Cha Kazi (CCK), a political party he launched in 2021. Many expected him to contest using his party, not under President William Ruto’s UDA.

So far, Kuria has not explained his decision, leaving room for speculation and heated debate online.

Social media users did not hold back. One user openly questioned his loyalty to his own party, saying, “You are a party leader, yet you can’t even vie for your party. You think going with UDA will make things better for you?”

Another commenter linked the move to money and political interests, writing:

“You want to join the list of aspirants who will get campaign funds from looted money. Campaigns are not even near, and defections are just starting.”

A third user mocked Kuria’s shifting ambitions: “What is going on? Presidency, then Nairobi Governor, now MP? You look confused.”

Kuria’s political journey has always been bold and unpredictable. However, this latest move has raised serious questions: Why abandon his own party at such a critical time? Is this a strategic move or a sign of uncertainty? Is UDA becoming the safe landing zone for ambitious politicians?

Until Moses Kuria breaks his silence, Kenyans will continue to speculate, debate, and argue online.
