"You Have Divided My Family" — Moses Kuria Blasts Gachagua as Brother Aloise Fires Back

A fierce political and family drama has erupted between former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and his younger brother Aloise Kinyanjui, after Kuria publicly accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of exploiting family ties to embarrass him politically.

In a blunt post on X, Kuria directed his anger squarely at Gachagua. "You have divided my family to embarrass me," he wrote, drawing a parallel to what he described as Gachagua's habit of dividing Kenyans along tribal lines in a bid to embarrass President William Ruto. He ended with a stark warning: "Going forward, you will lose A LOT OF WEIGHT."
The tension has been building for months. Gachagua attended Aloise Kinyanjui's traditional dowry ceremony in Gatundu South in February 2026, a high-profile gesture that underscored the growing political bond between the two — even as Moses Kuria was conspicuously absent from his own brother's celebration.

Matters came to a head on Saturday, March 21, during a DCP rally in Githunguri, where Aloise took the microphone and addressed Moses directly, mixing mockery with brotherly reproach.

"Niko na jambo moja, huyo mwanaume mmeskia anaitwa Moses Kuria, leo nataka kumwongelesha kwa sababu ni mtoto wa mama yangu," he told the crowd.

Aloise accused Moses of claiming DCP would sweep Mt Kenya parliamentary seats only to suggest those elected MPs would later be bought by the state. Gachagua had also fired back at Kuria on the same issue, dismissing the bribery claims and labelling him a traitor to the Mt Kenya region.

Aloise, replying to his brother's X post on Monday, was equally blunt: "Why will some people not simply get money from their masters without the mention of their families? Shame!"

The brotherly fallout lays bare the deepening fractures within Mt Kenya's political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The allegations come against the backdrop of a heated political war over Tuju’s properties, including the Dari Business Park and Tamarind Karen along Ngong Road, which have been under threat of auction over an unpaid Sh2.2 billion debt owed to the East African Development Bank (EADB).

Tuju has previously accused President Ruto of using "goons" to push him out of his Karen residence, claims the presidency has denied.

However, the narrative took a new twist when Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka also accused Ruto of "salivating" for the property, alleging a "daylight land grab."

Kalonzo challenged the President to order the immediate withdrawal of police from Tuju’s hospital room and respect his rights.

President Ruto has dismissed the accusations, recently criticizing Tuju’s advisors whom he labeled as "scavengers" and "conmen" for allegedly staging a fake abduction and dragging former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name into the dispute.

Ruto affirmed that his business dealings, including poultry and maize farming, are legitimate.

The Judiciary has since urged all parties to exercise restraint as the matter is currently pending before the Court of Appeal.
