Tuju Finally Bows to Pressure and Revealed Where He Was Hiding in Last 24 Hrs of Alleged Abduction

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, who was reported missing on Sunday, March 22, has now reappeared.

In a press conference on Monday, March 23, Tuju stated that he left his vehicle after noticing that unmarked cars were tailing him.

Tuju recounted that a suspicious vehicle began following him on Friday evening, which led him to drive to the Karen Police Station to file a report.

However, the next day, the same vehicle continued to follow him while he was en route to a radio interview, this time lacking license plates.

Tuju, accompanied by his aide, utilized his knowledge of the Karen area to evade the vehicle before he abandoned his car, fearing for his safety.

The former Jubilee Secretary General mentioned that they sought refuge in a residence belonging to a family near the Nairobi–Kiambu border.

Tuju clarified that he could not go to a police station for safety after the incident due to his concern that the individuals pursuing him were affiliated with security agencies.

Tuju's family reported him missing at the Karen Police Station on Sunday, March 22, after attempts to contact him via his mobile phone, which had been turned off, were unsuccessful.
