“I Can Die Peacefully” — Famous Kenyan Rider Dies Days After Posting Viral ‘Death’ Message Surface

Kenya’s biking community is mourning the loss of popular rider and online personality Elvis Kamala, widely recognized by fans as Gustavo Rides. The motorcycling enthusiast died on Sunday following a tragic road accident along the Northern Bypass in Nairobi.

According to police reports, Kamala was riding his red Ducati superbike when the crash occurred near the Potter House barrier in the Runda area. Authorities say the motorcycle collided with a Toyota Succeed that was entering the highway from a side road.

The rider died at the scene of the accident. His wife, Diana Mwai, who was travelling as a pillion passenger, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital but later passed away.

Their deaths have sent shockwaves through Kenya’s close-knit superbike community, where Kamala had built a strong following through riding videos, bike reviews, and commentary shared on social media.

The couple’s bodies were moved to the mortuary at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital as investigations continue. Officers from Runda Police Station are handling the case.

Adding to the shock surrounding the tragedy is a social media message Kamala posted weeks earlier. In February, he shared a photo of his red motorcycle online with a reflective caption suggesting he had already experienced everything he hoped for in life.

After news of the crash spread, screenshots of the post circulated widely, prompting emotional reactions from fans and fellow riders.

Friends remember Kamala as an energetic presence in Nairobi’s biking scene. Many say he was generous with advice for new riders and often promoted road safety while celebrating the thrill of motorcycling.

His journey into biking began years ago with smaller motorcycles before he eventually upgraded to powerful machines. The Ducati he rode at the time of the accident was seen by friends as a milestone in that journey.

As tributes continue to pour in, fellow bikers are urging motorists and riders alike to exercise caution on Nairobi’s busy highways.
