DCI Boss Amin Confirms Findings On Tuju's Alleged Abduction, Highlights Legal Implications

DCI Boss, Amin Mohamed on Monday afternoon held press conference to address controversy surrounding former CS Raphael Tuju and his alleged abduction.

During the briefing, Amin Mohamed stated that investigations revealed Tuju remained in his Karen home throughout the entire period of the alleged ordeal.

Contrary to earlier accounts, authorities found no evidence suggesting he had been forcibly removed from his residence.

The DCI boss criticized Tuju’s family for initially denying police access to his home, describing it as a deliberate attempt to stifle investigations.

“Following the family's initial denial of cooperation, the NPS escalated the matter with urgency.

A combined operational team of uniformed officers was immediately deployed to secure the residence in a deployment which started late in the night,” Amin explained.

Amin emphasized that even when Tuju’s phone was switched off, he was confirmed to be present at his residence.

The findings, the DCI stated, suggest that the incident may have been staged, with potential legal consequences for Tuju.

The briefing also revealed that Tuju is embroiled in a legal dispute involving a multi-million shilling property in Karen.

Authorities indicated that ongoing investigations could result in charges related to the alleged staged abduction and interference with official procedures.

The DCI’s statement sought to clarify public confusion, stressing the importance of transparency and cooperation with law enforcement.

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru confirmed that the former CS was arrested shortly after he held a press conference to account for his activities over the last 36 hours.

Njiru mentioned that Tuju was in a concerning condition regarding his health; however, officials allegedly insisted on transporting him to the police station to provide a statement.
