Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya stirred debate after declaring that a change in national leadership would ease most of the difficulties facing the country.
The governor argued that a significant share of the country’s challenges stem from decisions made at the highest level of government.
According to him, the frustrations felt in many regions are tied to policies that he says have not delivered the relief citizens expected.
Natembeya told the crowd that the concerns raised by farmers, traders, young people and workers are not random. He insisted that these concerns are a direct result of choices made by the current administration.
In his view, replacing President William Ruto would open the way for new ideas, fresh leadership, and a more responsive style of managing public affairs.
He further urged residents to reflect on how national decisions affect their daily lives, from the cost of essential goods to the availability of opportunities for young people.
Natembeya also challenged leaders to listen to the frustrations expressed across the country instead of dismissing them as political noise.
His remarks have since drawn mixed reactions, with some agreeing that the country needs a new direction and others accusing him of seeking political attention as national debate intensifies.
