President William Ruto has requested the people of Mt Kenya region to permit him to unify the region with the rest of the country through tangible and visible long-term development projects.
Speaking in Kiambu and to be specific, Limuru's area of Kamandura during the launch of another 6-lane highway that will be completed by next year, Ruto told the region that Kenya needs development and not tribal politics.
Also in his speech, Ruto appeared to comment on the latest victories in the just-concluded by-elections including Mbeere North, when he thanked Kenyans for always standing and supporting leaders with visions instead of chants and slogans.
Tuungane pamoja.
Tuondoe ukabila, tuondoe chuki, tuondoe migawanyiko.
Ebu nione wale wanasema twende pamoja.
Interestingly, the message from Ruto comes just hours after the IEBC confirmed that Leonard Wamuthende won the race against Karish of DP with just 494 votes.
