The victim, identified as Silas Onyango Mogo, was seated in the co-driver’s seat of a car driven by his wife when the assailants struck.
According to police reports, a motorcycle carrying a rider and two passengers blocked the couple’s vehicle.
Two of the attackers quickly disembarked, dashed to the passenger’s side, and stabbed Onyango in the head.
Eyewitnesses said the gang then forcefully dragged the businessman out of the car and continued to stab him repeatedly.
He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His terrified wife abandoned the car and fled on foot.
Police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed that Onyango’s body bore multiple stab wounds on the head, neck, chest, stomach, and arms.
The body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy as investigations began.
The motive of the fatal stabbing remains unclear, though police have launched a manhunt to track down the suspects.
“This is a heinous act, and we are doing everything possible to pursue the attackers and bring them to justice,” a police officer said.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the suspects to come forward and assist in the investigations.
The gruesome killing has left many villagers in fear for their safety, with residents urging authorities to intensify patrols and address the rising spate of attacks on local roads.
