Nairobi: Shock As Driver Is Stabbed 11 Times Moments After Dropping Boss At JKIA

Police in Nairobi are investigating a shocking attack in which a driver was brutally stabbed several times shortly after dropping his employer at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The victim, identified as forty-year-old Charles Kipchirchir, was found lying in a ditch near Mombasa Road with multiple stab wounds on his chest and upper arm.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred moments after the driver had dropped off his boss, who was flying out of the country.

He was driving away from the airport when he was ambushed by unknown attackers believed to be robbers.

The assailants are said to have overpowered him and fled with his Nissan Note saloon car and mobile phone.

Police officers responding to the scene found the victim bleeding profusely and rushed him to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.

The stolen vehicle was later recovered abandoned in the Kwa Mwenje area, about a kilometre from where the attack took place.

Investigators suspect the driver may have been trailed from the airport by the attackers, who intended to rob him.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have since launched a manhunt for the suspects as they piece together CCTV footage and witness accounts.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about rising insecurity near major transport corridors and around the airport area.

Residents and motorists using the route have called for increased police patrols, particularly during late hours.

Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and promised to bring the culprits to justice.

The victim remains hospitalised as officers continue to gather information that could lead to the arrest of those behind the violent robbery.
