Makadara Member of Parliament Honorable George Aladwa today openly declared Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi as the undisputed leader of the Western Kenya region.
Speaking during an event in Vihiga County that was attended by President William Samoei Ruto, Aladwa said Mudavadi commands authority in the region by virtue of being the third in command in the national government.
Aladwa said it is time leaders from Western Kenya rally behind Mudavadi instead of engaging in endless political fights.
He noted that Mudavadi’s senior position in President Ruto’s administration places him in a better position to champion for the interests of the people from the region.
In his speech, the MP sharply criticized other leaders from the region who are aligned with the Opposition, accusing them of lacking direction and vision.
He singled out Trans Nzoia Governor Honorable George Natembeya, saying that the governor and others in opposition politics “do not even know what they want.”
Aladwa urged residents of Western Kenya to reject leaders who are only focused on political fights instead of service delivery.
He further noted that unity under Mudavadi’s leadership would guarantee development, opportunities, and representation at the highest levels of government.
The event, graced by President Ruto, brought together several leaders from across the country.
Aladwa’s remarks appeared to send a strong political message ahead of the 2027 general elections, with calls for Western leaders to consolidate their support behind the Prime Cabinet Secretary.
His statement is likely to spark debate within the political circles of Western Kenya, where divisions between pro-government leaders and those in opposition have continued to shape the region’s political dynamics.
