BREAKING NEWS: Two Kenyan Activists, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, Allegedly Abducted in Uganda While Seeking a Sit-down With Bobi Wine

Four men carrying guns jumped out, accompanied by a woman who remained in the front seat.

“They ordered Bob and Oyoo into the vehicle. I was also taken, but after a brief exchange, they let me go.

Within minutes, their phones were switched off, and I was left stranded,” the witness recounted.

The activists had traveled to Uganda earlier in the week, joining Bobi Wine’s campaign trail in Buyende and Kamuli as preparations for the 2026 presidential elections intensified.

Their sudden disappearance has sparked fear among colleagues and relatives back home.
This is not the first time Njagi has faced such an ordeal. Last year, he was abducted alongside other activists accused of fueling anti-government protests and disappeared for weeks before being released.

The incident also comes months after Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi and Ugandan journalist Agather Atuhaire were arrested in Tanzania and later abandoned near their countries’ borders, with both alleging mistreatment by security officials.

Human rights groups have often accused Ugandan authorities of targeting activists aligned with the opposition. As of now, there has been no official statement from Ugandan police regarding Njagi and Oyoo’s disappearance.

Two Kenyan activists are missing in Uganda after what is believed to be an abduction by armed men.

The victims, identified as Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, were reportedly taken on Wednesday afternoon while participating in opposition leader Bobi Wine’s campaign activities.

According to accounts from a close associate, the two were bundled into a vehicle by four armed men shortly after stopping at a petrol station.

Their phones went off moments later, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

Njagi, who is the chairman of the Free Kenya Movement, had been seen earlier on stage with Bobi Wine during rallies in Kamuli District.

Videos posted online also showed him mingling with Wine’s team as they addressed supporters across Eastern Uganda.

A friend who was with them narrated how the events unfolded. He said the group had been repairing their car when a grey van suddenly pulled up.
