Alianza Kunishika Usiku, Bungoma Nurse Arrested For Allegedly Defiling Form Three Girl

Shock has gripped Bungoma after a nurse working at a private hospital was arrested for allegedly defiling a Form Three student within the hospital premises.

The incident, which has left parents and residents outraged, came to light after the girl reported the ordeal to her family, telling them, “Alianza kunishika”.

According to police reports, the minor had gone to the hospital on Monday to seek treatment when the nurse allegedly took advantage of her vulnerability.

The girl told her parents that instead of helping her, the nurse locked her inside one of the consultation rooms and assaulted her.

The distraught student narrated the incident to her mother immediately after leaving the hospital.

The family rushed to report the matter at the nearest police station, leading to the swift arrest of the suspect.

Bungoma County police commander confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect is in custody and will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.

“We are treating this matter with the seriousness it deserves. The safety of minors must be protected at all costs,” the commander said.

The incident sparked anger across Bungoma, with parents and community leaders staging protests outside the hospital demanding justice for the girl.

Many expressed fear that trusted professionals could use their positions to prey on children.

“This is heartbreaking. How can someone entrusted with saving lives turn into a danger to the same people? We demand justice and stronger measures to protect our children,” said one angry resident.

The minor has since been taken for medical examination and trauma counseling. Human rights activists in the area have also taken up the matter, urging the government to ensure speedy prosecution and to tighten laws against sexual offenders, especially those working in sensitive sectors such as healthcare.

Cases of sexual abuse against school-going children have been on the rise in Western Kenya, sparking calls for parents, schools, and institutions to remain extra vigilant.

The nurse will remain in police custody as residents await the next court proceedings.
