Photo Of Mother Who Died After Falling From 4th-floor Apartment While Fleeing Deportation In Saudi

A Ugandan woman working in Saudi Arabia has died in a tragic accident while trying to escape deportation.

The young mother, identified as Namatovu Halima, was living in Riyadh and reportedly fell from the fourth floor of an apartment building as she attempted to flee immigration officers.

Halima, who was fondly known as Maama Kiyumba, had spent five years working in Saudi Arabia as a domestic worker.

Friends and family say she was a determined woman who used her earnings to build several houses back home, hoping to give her child a better future.

According to sources, her visa had already expired, and she had been detained in a deportation facility before the incident.

In a desperate move to avoid being sent home, Halima tried to escape but sustained serious head injuries when she fell.

She was rushed to a hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. For days, she fought for her life, but sadly, she did not survive.

Relatives and colleagues described her as a hardworking and caring woman who supported not just her immediate family but also her wider community.

Her last words, according to reports, were directed to her son—asking him to pray for her success in avoiding deportation.

“She was such a kind soul. It is painful that after helping others return home safely, she was the one who ended up dying so tragically,” one of her friends shared.

Reports further indicate that Halima had evaded arrest in the past, and some suspect she may have been betrayed by fellow migrants who tipped off the police.

Her family is now appealing for financial help to bring her body back to Uganda for burial.
