Photo Of Grade 7 Girl Who Dissapeared 7 Weeks Ago After Sharing Crucial Information With Her Brother

A family in Kitengela, Kajiado County, is living in anguish after their 13-year-old daughter disappeared nearly two months ago.

The girl, identified as Mitchell Kwamboka Nelico, has been missing since August 28, just a day before schools reopened for the new term.

Her mother, Phanice Kerubo, says she left home without telling anyone where she was going and has not returned.

Mitchell, a Grade 7 pupil at Gilharder Junior Secondary School, had reportedly confided in her brother that she was planning to run away, but he did not take her seriously.

“She was supposed to report back to school the next day. Her brother told me she had mentioned wanting to leave, but he thought she was joking,” Kerubo said.

According to the worried mother, there had been no disagreements at home, leaving her confused about what may have triggered her daughter’s disappearance.

“We never quarreled, and she did not appear troubled. I just don’t understand why she left,” she added.

Mitchell was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, a blue denim skirt with a side pocket, a brown fluffy hoodie, and white crocs.

Kerubo reported the matter at Isinya Police Station, but so far, the family has not received any leads. She is now appealing to members of the public to assist in locating her daughter.

“I beg anyone who has seen Mitchell or knows where she might be to contact me on 0720602708 or report to the nearest police station,” she pleaded.

News of the missing girl has drawn sympathy online, with many Kenyans urging whoever may be hiding her to release her. Some also appealed to Mitchell directly, asking her to return home.

One concerned netizen wrote: “Imagine the pain your mother is going through every night. Please come home.”

Another added: “If anyone is with her, let her go back to her family. She is too young
to be away from home.”
