“Kalonzo Backed You, Now Back Him" Eugene Reminds Raila As 2027 Election Continues To Gain Momentum.

In the latest political developments, Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, might ask Raila Odinga for support in the 2027 elections.

Eugene Wamalwa, a supporter of Kalonzo, mentioned that Kalonzo has always supported Raila in the past three elections, and it is expected that Raila will return the favor when the time comes.

In a statement, he emphasized that Kalonzo’s support for Raila would not go unrecognized, and they are planning to seek unity to form the next government.

The comments come as there are tensions within the ODM (Orange Democratic Movement) party over its recent agreement with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.

Some ODM leaders and Cabinet Secretaries, who are part of the government, are calling for a long-term partnership, but others in the party are concerned that this will stop ODM from having its own presidential candidate in 2027.

At the same time, ODM faces internal struggles. ODM leaders like Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga and Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi criticized the party's divisions.

Mbadi directly criticized ODM’s Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, for opposing the partnership with the government.

He warned that if the party doesn’t support this arrangement, it could hurt ODM’s chances of presenting a strong presidential candidate in 2027.

ODM leaders like Siaya Governor James Orengo and Deputy Minority Whip Caleb Amisi have shown concern about the party’s cooperation with the ruling government.

Meanwhile, Kalonzo and other senior opposition leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, are expected to agree on a single candidate to challenge President Ruto in the 2027 elections.
