Cynthia Achieng' Abok, a woman born in Kisumu County but now living in Nairobi, has surprised many after revealing that she has been married 12 times.
Despite her painful past, she still believes she can find true love one day. Cynthia shared her life story in an emotional interview.
She said she entered her first marriage when she was still a young girl. Life was hard, and her parents had separated, which forced her to look for a better life on her own.
“My mum got married again, and life at home became hard. I tried living with my dad, but things were not easy,” she said.
Her search for a better life led her into the hands of many men, most of whom were already married. These men promised to help her, especially with education.
But instead of supporting her, they turned her into a secret wife and later abandoned her.
“Some men rented houses for me and promised to take me to school. I wanted to learn, but they only used me. They lied and never helped me,” she explained.
One of the most unusual marriages was with a 77-year-old married pastor who even fathered one of her children. He kept her in a different house and would only visit during the day.
Cynthia said he never fulfilled his promises and was sometimes abusive. When his wife found out, Cynthia was kicked out.
Despite being let down many times, Cynthia has not lost hope. She said she is open to love again if the right person comes along.
“Maybe God can bring someone good into my life. I still believe in love,” she said with hope.
Cynthia, now a mother of three, has gone through a lot. She has worked different jobs, battled stress, and even tried using substances to cope with the pain. But today, she is stronger and more aware of what she wants.
