A tragic story has emerged about a woman who had just visited her parents in Kenya died on her way back to the United States.
According to reports, Roselyne Oyaro, a Kenyan nurse based in Long Beach, California, had spent several weeks in Kenya visiting her family.
On Saturday evening, she boarded a KLM flight from Nairobi, ready to return to her life abroad. Friends say she was cheerful and full of gratitude for the time she had shared with her loved ones.
The flight made a stopover in Amsterdam, where Roselyne spoke briefly to a few friends, promising to catch up after landing in Los Angeles. Sadly, that was the last time anyone heard from her.
A few hours into the second leg of her journey, tragedy struck. Roselyne suffered a sudden medical emergency while the plane was mid-air.
The pilot made an emergency diversion to Yellowknife, Canada, where doctors on board and emergency teams on the ground tried their best to save her life.
Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Stanton Territorial Hospital.
Roselyne was the only daughter in a family of five children. Her parents — a retired Postal Corporation employee and a casual laborer — are devastated by the news.
To them, she was not only a daughter but also their hope and support.
Friends and relatives describe Roselyne as a loving and compassionate nurse whose smile could light up any room.
She was deeply loved in both Kenya and California, where she had built a life of care and kindness.
Her body is currently preserved in a morgue in Canada as the family appeals to well-wishers for support to repatriate her remains back to Kenya.
