“Suspend This Deal Now”: Justin Muturi Raises Alarm Over Kenya–France Military Pact

 

 Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi has raised sharp concerns over the proposed Kenya–France Defence Cooperation Agreement, warning that the deal could undermine national sovereignty and violate constitutional requirements if implemented without proper scrutiny.

In a statement issued on April 26, 2026, Muturi urged the government led by William Ruto to suspend the agreement pending a comprehensive review and public participation process.
