As indicated by the People Daily media report, after Leonard Wa Muthende managed to beat his main opponent Newton Kariuki in the just concluded by elections, Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Hon Geoffrey Ruku earned himself a good reputation for helping UDA party neutralize the Opposition's threat, thus proving to the people that William Ruto still holds a bigger part of Mt Kenya soul.
Reports indicate that he (Geoffrey Ruku) "was elevated as the undisputed Kingpin of Mbeere North community."
As per the report, even though Ruku's name never attracted huge attention like Kithure Kindiki's name during the Mbeere North campaigns, he worked tirelessly behind the scene, and using the influence he has as a Cabinet Secretary, he managed to tilt the negative opinion about the UDA outfit.
After the election were through, Geoffrey Ruku yet again played a strategic role in protecting Wa Muthende's votes and he reportedly controlled the party agents and ensured they did their jobs as was required.
As a result, Ruku sustained unending attack from a section of the Opposition members who accused him of trying to rig the elections.
However, in a quick rejoinder to the accusations that were channeled towards him, Ruku denied the claims and affirmed that UDA conducted vigorous campaigns across Mbeere North, and that the people of made their decision to stick with the government.
