The suspect, identified as Abedinecho Katue, is a popular Kenyan TikToker and nurse who worked at AdventHealth Orlando.
Authorities say the 46-year-old was arrested on March 4, 2026, after investigators linked him to an incident that happened more than a year ago.
According to court records, Katue appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Orange County in Orlando where prosecutors said he was facing charges of sexual battery of a physically incapacitated victim and a second count of lewd or lascivious molestation of a disabled adult.
Police reports state that the incident happened on January 26, 2025, inside the hospital where the nurse worked.
Investigators said Katue allegedly entered a room where a female patient who had lost a limb was admitted for treatment.
The victim later told authorities that the nurse touched her inappropriately during the visit.
She also claimed that he gave her morphine without her consent in an attempt to keep her quiet after the incident.
Detectives said the suspect had been under investigation for months before he was finally arrested.
Authorities tracked him down nearly a year after the alleged attack and placed him in custody on March 4, 2026.
The case has caused anger online, especially among Kenyans who knew the suspect from his TikTok content.
Health officials in Florida have also launched internal reviews as the criminal case continues in court.
If found guilty, the nurse could face a lengthy prison sentence under Florida law.
