"Try Us" Mount Kenya Threatens Election Boycott If Rigathi Gachagua is Excluded from Ballot 2027

Mount Kenya residents may consider staying away from the upcoming elections if former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is excluded from the ballot, political strategist Mary Njoroge has warned.

Speaking on Sunday, Njoroge said the region’s political allegiance is strongly tied to Rigathi Gachagua. She emphasized that his presence on the ballot is crucial for securing votes from Mount Kenya.

Njoroge stressed that the exclusion of Rigathi Gachagua would be seen as a disregard for the political voice of the region. “We must be represented in leadership, either as president or deputy president,” she noted.

The political strategist added that Mount Kenya has historically played a decisive role in national elections, making the region’s stance influential on the overall outcome.

Njoroge’s remarks come amid growing speculation over alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election. She hinted that regional unity could be jeopardized if key leaders are sidelined.

She also warned that political marginalization could spark tensions in the region, urging parties to consider Mount Kenya voters’ preferences seriously.

The statement has stirred debates across social media, with supporters echoing Njoroge’s sentiment and critics questioning the idea of a potential electoral boycott.

Political analysts say such declarations could pressure national parties to align their candidates with regional expectations to avoid alienating voters.

Mary Njoroge concluded that Mount Kenya voters are determined and will demand representation that reflects the region’s interests at the national level.

She urged all political stakeholders to respect the region’s choices and ensure that its leaders remain active participants in shaping Kenya’s future.
