The clip, captured in what appears to be the pastor's office or church setting, depicts Naipei assisting the controversial televangelist in a humble gesture that many have interpreted in contrasting ways.
Marion Naipei, a 22-year-old woman, first gained massive online attention following explicit viral videos involving James Opande, which exposed her in compromising situations and labeled her as a "panties-less" or adult content creator in some reports.
The scandal led to intense scrutiny, emotional distress, and public criticism. In response, Naipei turned to faith, attending services at Pastor Victor Kanyari's Salvation Healing Ministry in Njiru, Nairobi.
During a church service in late January 2026, Naipei publicly gave her life to Christ, stating she had not been saved before but had been prayed for and accepted the Lord.
Pastor Kanyari welcomed her warmly, calling her his "new sweetheart" in town during introductions, gifted her KSh 50,000 as a "mercy gift," prayed for her, and defended her transformation.
He emphasized that "Jesus came for sinners" and admitted to having watched her trending videos "in detail" (even rewinding them), which sparked further controversy and threats against him for associating with her.
Recent developments include Kanyari offering to fund any business venture Naipei chooses, plans to potentially ordain her as a pastor, and her taking on roles like church work or personal assistance (PA).
She has also been seen distributing food with the pastor and interacting with his family, including introductions to his daughter Sky and son Danny.
