"Ruto Uses Secret Files and Bribery Records to Keep MPs Under His Control" Gachagua Alleges

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of keeping Members of Parliament under tight control through intimidation and secret surveillance.

According to Gachagua, the President has created personal files on lawmakers, documenting every instance of bribery and financial dealings.

“William Ruto monitors all these MPs and has a file on each of them. He has recordings of all the money he was bribing them.

He is a smart man and he knew they would shortchange and abandon him,” Gachagua claimed.

The former DP alleged that Ruto’s strategy was deliberate from the start.

By recording and documenting payments to legislators, he ensured that they would have no way of distancing themselves from him in the future.

Gachagua said these files are now being used as a political weapon to keep MPs and Senators loyal to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

He further accused Ruto of forming a multi-agency team tasked not only with governance matters but also with gathering compromising evidence on political leaders.

The intention, Gachagua argued, is to intimidate and silence dissent within the ruling party.

“The multi-agency team he has formed is to collect evidence and create files on all leaders to threaten them when they decide to leave UDA,” he said.

Gachagua’s claims suggest that instead of fostering loyalty through trust and shared vision, the President relies on coercion and surveillance to maintain control.
