Opinion Poll Reveals The Most Preferred Presidential Candidate As Gachagua Emerges In Position Four

A recent online survey has sparked new discussion over Kenya's 2027 presidential election, ranking former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i higher than a number of influential people. Nearly 3,000 people took the survey, which political analyst Ndwaru Senior posted on X.

Matiang'i led with 40.7 percent, while President William Ruto came in second with 26.4 percent, according to the results. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua received 11.7 percent, and Kalonzo Musyoka, the head of the Wiper Party, came in third with 21.2 percent.

Despite not being a scientific survey, the results show how Kenyans' opinions are changing and emphasise Matiang'i's growing political power.

His impressive performance also strengthens the opposition's continuing discussions about how to present a unified front before the next general election.

Opposition leaders have alluded to the prospect of putting forward a joint candidate in recent weeks. Kalonzo, Gachagua, and Matiang'i are among the names discussed; they might put aside their personal goals in order to increase their chances of defeating Ruto.

Coalition negotiations are vital as Kenya approaches 2027 because political history has demonstrated that coalitions can significantly change election results.
