Kelvin Kinuthia to Undergo Uterus Transplant, Says Goodbye to Beard for Good

The social media personality made the announcement on his Instagram account on Monday, September 8, 2025, while reflecting on how much of his life remains private despite his online presence.

“Life is so private; no one knows I’m getting a UTX surgery soon,” Kinuthia shared with his followers.

A uterus transplant (UTX) is a complex medical procedure typically done to help women with uterine factor infertility carry a pregnancy.

While rare and still under study in many countries, it has been performed successfully in a few places around the world.

Kinuthia did not reveal further details about when or where the surgery would take place or what his long-term goals are following the transplant.

This revelation comes a year after Kinuthia opened up about his laser hair removal journey, which he began to permanently eliminate his beard.

He had explained that shaving regularly became a personal struggle, especially since he often avoids barbershops due to uncomfortable stares and awkward moments.

“Nakuanga nikizinyoa, that is why you don’t see them, and sometimes I post photos with makeup,” Kinuthia said in a video shared on June 17, 2024.

“Ukijinyoa nyumbani is not as clean as kwa barbershop. Sometimes huwa naloose psyche ya kufanya content because I feel I am looking bad.”

He added that public judgment, especially in male grooming spaces, made him feel unwelcome.

“Unabaki umepewa side-eye look, they wonder why huyu amekam na wig ako na braids...” Kinuthia said, describing earlier experiences that made him avoid barbershops altogether.

Despite the challenges, Kinuthia announced he had officially started his laser treatment and would be sharing the full process with fans through his YouTube channel, under the hashtag #lifewithofficialkinuthia.

He thanked his facial therapist, praising the experience as the beginning of a more confident chapter in his life.

“Saying goodbye to my beards. It’s high time now we get to do this,” he wrote.

“Finally, I have started my journey and can’t wait to see the results.”
