Gachagua Accuses President Ruto of Land Grabbing, Promises to Revoke Titles if His Camp Wins Power

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched fresh attacks against President William Ruto, accusing him of grabbing large tracts of public land.

Gachagua, who has recently stepped up his political campaigns, claimed that several parcels of land meant for the public were illegally taken and allocated to individuals close to the President.

Speaking during a rally over the weekend, Gachagua told his supporters that land injustice remains one of the biggest problems in the country.

He said many Kenyans continue to suffer while a few powerful people enrich themselves through questionable deals.

He vowed that if his political camp takes power, they will not only investigate the alleged land grabs but also revoke the titles and return the land to the public.

“Public resources belong to the people, not to a few individuals in government.

If given a chance, we will correct these injustices and make sure the land is given back to the rightful owners,” Gachagua said.

The former DP further accused the President of betraying the promises he made to ordinary citizens, especially farmers, small business owners, and the unemployed youth.

He said the government had shifted focus from serving the people to protecting the interests of a small political elite.

Gachagua framed the fight against land grabbing as a central part of his campaign, insisting that fairness and justice must guide the use of public resources.

He also warned those holding irregular land titles to prepare for tough times if his team wins power.

His remarks are likely to intensify political tension within the ruling coalition, where divisions have been growing steadily.

Some leaders allied to President Ruto have dismissed Gachagua’s claims as political propaganda aimed at gaining sympathy ahead of the next elections. Click here.
