A woman from Embakasi East was sentenced to seven years jail term after she was found guilty of attempting to kill by a Kibera court.
The accused identified as Ebby Khalea was charged with stabbing Michael Ngure Wanjeri, her boyfriend of one month, in the abdomen using a knife. The knife inflicted injuries in the victim’s intestines.
The court heard that the suspect committed the act on July 31, 2023 at Kisumu Ndogo in Soweto.
The prosecution narrated to the court that on the material day, the victim was in his bed inside his room when the Ebby came shortly from a drinking joint and noticed the door already locked.
It is alleged that the suspect asked for a matchete from a local and unlocked the door which was locked with an iron nail from inside.
The suspect is said to have forced a matchete through the opening and unlocked the door. She returned the matchete back to the owner and the local went back to sleep, just to be woken up once more by a heated argument between Ngure and Khalea.
Few minutes later, Ngure raised alarm attracting the attention of the villagers at midnight. The local who responded to his distressed calls found a kitchen knife used to stab Ngure on the floor stained with red blood.
Ngure held Khalea tightly questioning her why she went ahead to stab him. Red blood oozed from his intestines. The neighbour summoned a bodaboda rider who later took him to the hospital for emergency treatment. READ MORE........................
