“We Want a New ODM” – Winnie Odinga Changes Tune, Calls for Change After Surprise Appearance at Linda Ground SDC

Winnie Odinga has sparked fresh debate within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after making a surprise appearance at the Linda Ground SDC meeting, where she openly called for reforms within the party.

Addressing attendees, Winnie declared, “We want a new ODM,” signaling growing calls for transformation among sections of the party’s leadership and supporters.

Her unexpected presence at the meeting caught many by surprise, with party members and observers closely watching her remarks for clues about the future direction of ODM.

Winnie emphasized the need for inclusivity, transparency, and renewed energy within the party, urging leaders to embrace change in order to remain relevant in Kenya’s evolving political landscape.

“We must build a party that reflects the 2 of young people and all Kenyans. Change is not optional; it is necessary,” she stated, drawing X applause from sections of the audience.

Her comments highlight increasing pressure within ODM to adapt and address internal concerns ahead of future political contests.

The Linda Ground SDC gathering has recently become a focal point for discussions around party discipline, leadership, and unity.

Winnie’s remarks added a new dimension to the ongoing conversations, with some members welcoming her bold stance while others expressed caution over potential divisions.

Political analysts suggest that her statement could signal a shift in generational influence within ODM, as younger leaders seek a greater role in shaping the party’s future.

As the daughter of veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga, Winnie’s voice carries significant weight and is likely to influence ongoing debates within the party.

ODM leadership has yet to issue an official response to her remarks. However, the call for a “new ODM” is expected to ignite further discussions about reform, unity, and the party’s long-term strategy in Kenya’s dynamic political environment.
