As seen from videos and photos shared on the internet throughout the night, hundreds of people could not leave town as others were trapped in matatus in the middle of flooded roads.
Cars were drowned as owners were forced to abandon them and run to safety to escape drowning with the cars.
One man however caught the attention of Kenyans in the CBD. While everyone else was worried how they were going to cross the flooded streets he came up with an idea that saved him.
He took a polystyrene foam and improvised it to be a boat which he sat on and let the flood waters carry him. He took a long stick which he used to direct his small boat in the streets.
Immediately Kenyans saw the creativity they could not stop laughing and praised his creativity. People could be seen in the comments talking about how Kenyans easily find solutions to problems they are facing.
