"Mtapigia Ruto Kura?" What Meru Crowd told Kindiki While Campaigning for Ruto's Bid

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday pitched camp in Meru County, where he held a series of development rallies aimed at rallying support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid.

Addressing residents in North Imenti, Kindiki urged the Mt Kenya region to remain united and back Ruto for a second term, saying the President should be allowed to complete his 10-year tenure before retiring.

He emphasized that continuity in leadership would ensure the government’s development agenda is fully implemented.

During his speech, Kindiki asked the crowd what should happen after Ruto’s expected exit from office in 2032.

In response, the crowd broke into chants of “four terms,” a move widely interpreted as an endorsement of Kindiki as a potential successor.

Leaders who accompanied the Deputy President appeared to support the chants, signalling growing political alignment behind him within the region.

Leaders present were MPs Rahim Dawood, Mpuru Aburi, Dan Kiili, Dorothy Muthoni, MCAs and other local leaders.
