Farouk Tembur, head of the security team at the Ngong family home, has issued strict directives ahead of the burial of the late Johanna Ng'eno.
Tembur announced that only two individuals have been barred from attending the funeral. He identified them as Ngong Kamilan and Ezekiel, without disclosing further details behind the decision.
According to Tembur, the restriction is aimed at maintaining order and preventing any disruptions during the solemn ceremony. He emphasized that the funeral is meant to honour the late leader with dignity and respect.
“Anyone else is welcomed,” he stated, making it clear that the event remains open to the public, leaders, friends and supporters who wish to pay their last respects.
The directive has sparked conversations within the community, with some residents expressing surprise over the selective restriction. Others, however, backed the move, saying funerals can easily turn chaotic without firm security control.
Preparations for the burial are ongoing, with local leaders and family members coordinating logistics to ensure a smooth send-off. Security has been heightened at the homestead as mourners continue to stream in.
The late Ng’eno’s death shocked the nation, drawing tributes from across the political divide. Leaders described him as vocal, fearless and deeply connected to his constituents.
As the burial day approaches, attention now shifts to how the security measures will be enforced and whether the barred individuals will respond to the directive.
For now, organisers insist the focus remains on giving Ng’eno a peaceful and united farewell, free from unnecessary drama or confrontation.
