Good News: Here’s a Simple Way to Identify Who Sent Money Without Knowing the Number

In a bid to improve security and transparency for its users, Safaricom has rolled out a new feature that enables M-Pesa customers to easily verify who sent them money, even if the sender’s phone number is partially hidden.

This new feature, which has been highly anticipated by users, aims to combat fraud and confusion regarding mobile money transactions.

Previously, some users had raised concerns about receiving money without being able to identify the sender due to partially masked phone numbers in transaction alerts.

Now, thanks to the introduction of this verification code, users can easily confirm the full details of the sender, enhancing the safety of their mobile money transfers.

The code, which is available in the comments section, can be used by both recipients and senders of funds to verify each other’s identity before confirming any transaction.

This added layer of security is expected to reduce cases of scams where fraudsters impersonate legitimate senders or request false transactions.

Safaricom CEO, Peter Ndegwa, highlighted that this feature is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and trust of their mobile money platform.

He assured customers that the company remains committed to providing innovative solutions that meet their needs and protect them from evolving fraud tactics.

The new verification feature is expected to offer users peace of mind as they can now easily confirm details of who sent them money, ensuring more control over their transactions.

Safaricom continues to lead the way in mobile technology innovation in Kenya, offering new tools to keep its customer base secure.
