Mama Lucia Wangui, the mother of Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, passed away earlier in March and was laid to rest at her family home in Mihato, Kiambu County.

According to family sources, they are deeply pained by how a personal loss has been entangled in public political debate, and they want the memory of Mama Lucia Wangui to be honored without further conflict.
“We are mourning a mother and grandmother,” a family representative said. “We respectfully ask that everyone refrain from actions or statements that cause further pain to us during this difficult time. Let Mama Lucia rest in peace.”
