Senator Edwin Sifuna has urged his supporters to attend the upcoming Linda Mwananchi rally scheduled to take place at Tononoka Grounds.
Speaking during an event, the Nairobi Senator said the Linda Mwananchi movement had taken a short break following its rally in Kakamega, which attracted large crowds of Kenyans who turned up to witness the political gathering.
According to Sifuna, the pause was deliberate and aimed at allowing the team to restrategise, mobilise resources, and develop a one-year roadmap that will guide the movement as it continues to popularise its agenda across the country.
The rally in Mombasa has been scheduled for March 22, shortly after the end of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Sifuna, alongside other Linda Mwananchi leaders including Babu Owino and James Orengo, has in recent weeks intensified criticism of the broad-based arrangement, describing it as a betrayal of the political legacy of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Sifuna’s faction has also accused a rival camp, allegedly led by Oburu Oginga of the Orange Democratic Movement, of attempting to align the party with President William Ruto, a move they claim undermines the party’s opposition stance.
