Narok MP Honourable Ntutu has strongly criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of ignoring the Maasai community when he was in government.
Speaking at a public meeting in Narok, Ntutu said that when Gachagua was still serving under President William Ruto, he used to claim that the Maasai people had no share in the government because they did not vote for Ruto in the 2022 General Election.
“He used to say Maasai people did not vote for Ruto, so they have no share in government. Because of that, our people were denied development,” Ntutu said.
The MP claimed that during Gachagua’s time in office, the Maa region did not receive enough government projects. He said the community felt left out and ignored.
Ntutu also accused the former deputy president of changing his stand after he was impeached. He said Gachagua is now visiting Maasai areas and speaking kindly to residents as he prepares for the 2027 elections.
“Now he is pretending to love the Maasai people. He is coming here looking for votes, yet when he had power, he did not support us,” Ntutu said.
The Narok lawmaker said the Maasai community will not forget what happened. He insisted that the people of Narok will continue to support President Ruto.
“We will stand with President Ruto. We cannot support someone who only remembers us when he is out of office,” he said.
