Unexpected Moment As Kieni Crowd Forces Their MP to Chant This Slogan During Kindiki's Event

Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina was forced to join in chanting a local slogan during Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s development tour in Kieni, Nyeri County on Thursday, February 26.

Deputy President Kindiki, who was accompanied by the area MP and other leaders, had visited the region to preside over a series of development rallies aimed at outlining the government’s ongoing projects.

While addressing residents, Kindiki reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding electricity connectivity to every household, urging locals to continue supporting the administration for a second term to enable it to complete its development agenda.

However, the mood shifted when the MP was invited to speak. The crowd erupted into loud cheers and songs, repeatedly chanting “mbwengze,” (meaning support for another term) which interrupted his speech.

The chants grew louder, forcing the MP to pause briefly as he waited for the crowd to settle down.

At some point, he was compelled to join the residents in chanting the slogan before calm was restored, allowing him to proceed with his address.
