He faced challenges in his education, including repeating classes and overcoming financial hurdles, before earning a bachelor's degree in mass communication from the University of Nairobi and later pursuing further studies.
Malala entered politics as a member of the Amani National Congress (ANC), serving as the Senator for Kakamega County from 2017 to 2022.
He later joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), where he was appointed Secretary General in 2023 but was removed from the position in August 2024 amid internal party disputes.
Following his ouster from UDA, Malala became the Deputy Party Leader of the Democratic Citizens Party (DCP), led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Starting the new year in style, Malala on January 1, 2023 took to his Facebook page to thank God for the completion of the house which was handed over to him.
“Gratitude to almighty God, for the gift of a house, the ACK Reverend Bishop Charles Kaskan of Maseno North Diocese, my family and friends for the handing over ceremony of my rural abode in Makunga,” he said.
