Speculation As Ruto Reportedly Cancels Meeting With Church Leaders After They Made This Demand

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has raised concern over what he described as a failed attempt to hold talks between President William Ruto and senior church bishops.

Speaking during a public gathering, Kalonzo said the meeting was meant to allow religious leaders to raise concerns affecting the country privately without it being public.

He explained that the bishops wanted to discuss economic hardship, rising cost of living, and the growing frustration among ordinary Kenyans.

According to Kalonzo, the church leaders had approached the President in good faith.

He said their intention was not political but pastoral, aimed at restoring calm and promoting national unity at a time when the country is under pressure.

He noted that the church has historically played a key role in guiding the nation, especially during moments of tension.

Kalonzo argued that ignoring such voices sends the wrong message to citizens who still trust religious leaders to speak on their behalf.

The Wiper leader said many Kenyans are struggling to meet basic needs. He added that families are burdened by high food prices, fuel costs, and taxes.

In his view, the church leaders wanted to help find solutions through dialogue rather than confrontation.

The event attracted a large crowd, with supporters listening keenly as Kalonzo addressed national issues.

Other leaders allied to him also called for respect for institutions that promote peace and moral leadership.
