The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has expressed strong confidence in capturing all elective positions in Nairobi County during the 2027 General Election.
This announcement came during a church service at St Peter’s Enocha Legio Maria Mission in Dandora.
ODM national chairperson, Gladys Wanga, said the party is united and well-organized in Nairobi.
She added that the party has laid a solid foundation to secure positions ranging from Members of County Assembly (MCAs) and Members of Parliament (MPs) to the Senate and the governor’s office.
According to Wanga, while ODM plans to dominate Nairobi, the presidency is expected to go to a broad-based government candidate, in collaboration with other political partners.
She emphasized that the party aims not just to retain its current positions but to significantly expand its parliamentary presence in the city.
The ODM leadership operates under Oburu Odinga, who Wanga described as the party leader responsible for steering ODM’s political strategy ahead of the next elections.
She noted that Oburu has been tasked with engaging with President William Ruto and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leadership to ensure smooth coordination under the broad-based government framework.
Wanga highlighted that any cooperation with UDA will be based on mutual understanding and a commitment to shared priorities.
She referred to a 10-point agenda previously agreed upon between ODM and the government, which she described as central to their collaborative efforts.
