PS Kiptoo defends Safaricom Share sale, dares critics to table better bids

National Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo has defended the proposed sale of government-held Safaricom shares to Vodacom, saying the transaction is transparent and offers the best value to taxpayers.

Speaking during the final day of the National Assembly retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Dr Kiptoo challenged opponents of the deal to present superior offers.

The process has been above board. We have done due diligence and negotiated the best possible deal,” he said.
