Panic In Kikuyu as Armed Gang Members Steal Goods Worth KSHs 500K From Kiambu Liquor Store

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kiambu are searching for a group of suspects who stole goods worth over Ksh 500K from a liquor store.

The suspects, who were armed, held several people hostage at the liquor store, forcing them to give out their Mpesa PIN numbers before stealing goods.

The January 27, 2026, incident caught the police's attention, and they managed to rescue a man who had been kidnapped by the suspects, who demanded a ransom from his family.

The victim revealed he was tortured and later dumped in Juja, Kiambu County.

Police say they're searching for the suspects, who were armed with a pistol and captured on CCTV, and have been identified.

Residents are calling for action, alleging the gang of six men has been robbing residents in Kikuyu and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Coast Regional Commander Ali Nunu says police will take action against suspects attacking residents in the region, saying they're searching for suspects who have left two people dead in Likoni.
