“Hi ujinga ya kutafuta umaarufu wa leo ambao utaisha kesho tuache kama Wakenya,” Kindiki said, highlighting the dangers of short-term thinking in politics. He used the analogy of a captain navigating a turbulent flight, stressing that leaders must remain focused even during challenging moments.
Kindiki heaped praise on President William Ruto, describing him as a visionary leader who combines scientific thinking with strategic foresight. “The president is a scientist, but he is also a thought leader. He understands that to build a nation, you don’t look for short term populism and quick fixes that will evaporate the next week,” he said
He further explained that national development requires patience and persistence. “Even if it is turbulent now, you must plan long term like a captain of a 15 hour flight. Do not be disrupted by the turbulence during take off. You must steady the ship or the vehicle until you reach where you are going,” Kindiki added.
The DP’s remarks come as a reminder for Kenyans to evaluate leadership not by momentary popularity or sensational politics, but by the ability to steer the country toward sustainable growth. Kindiki’s words reinforce the administration’s focus on strategic planning, resilience, and long-term national development.
