Former Lugari Member of Parliament, Cyrus Jirongo, tragically lost his life in a road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on the early hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The 64-year-old politician was reportedly returning home to Nairobi from Nakuru when the accident occurred in the Karai area of Naivasha around 3 a.m.

“I don’t think he’s alive. I see they’re trying to get him out of the car. You can go and see for yourself. I usually avoid getting close to such scenes. Look at how they’re pulling him out with a rope,” the eyewitness said, criticizing the reckless driving habits of some bus operators.

His body was initially moved to Naivasha Sub-county Mortuary before being transferred to Lee Funeral Home at the request of his family.
