In a message posted on X on Sunday, December 28, 2025, the legislator thanked Kenyans for their prayers and support during his recent illness, saying his condition has improved and he is steadily regaining strength.
“By God’s grace, I am now on the path to recovery, and I remain hopeful and determined to resume my public duties in the new year,” Owino wrote.
The MP also took the opportunity to express solidarity with Kenyans who spent the Christmas season in hospital, away from their families and loved ones.
“As I heal, my heart is especially with all Kenyans who have spent this Christmas season in hospital beds. I pray that God grants you healing, renewed strength, and comfort, and that your families are filled with hope during this challenging time,” he said.
Owino emphasised the importance of compassion, unity, and collective responsibility in supporting those facing health challenges, noting that illness should never leave families feeling isolated or abandoned.
“No Kenyan should ever feel alone in suffering, and no family should be driven to despair because of illness. We must continue to stand together, bound by faith, compassion, and our shared humanity,” he added, quoting Jeremiah 30:17, which speaks of healing and restoration.
The health update follows an earlier statement issued on December 13, 2025, when the MP addressed speculation surrounding his condition.
At the time, Owino reassured the public that he was responding well to treatment after reports circulated online suggesting he had been hospitalised under unclear circumstances.
