Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been urged to explore other options, with regards to his political standing ahead of the 2027 general election.
This is courtesy of Fred Okango, the Strategic Advisor to Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya, who believes he is wasting his potential by being in the opposition.
According to Okango, also a leadership and governance expert, the opposition is in pieces and stands no chance against President William Ruto, and Kalonzo should jump ship when he still can.
According to him, Kalonzo can only save himself and get a leadership post if he joins hands with President Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"If he is serious, he must broaden his options. He should reunite with Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta to rebuild a reformist front," he says in an opinion piece in The Star.
"At the same time, he should open a dialogue with President Ruto to position himself as a statesman who bridges divides."
