"Riggy G Had Seen Far Beyond What Eyes Can See" MP Mwago Hints at Deep Fears Behind Rigathi Absence

Embakasi North MP Amos Mwago has broken his silence on the notable absence of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at the Nyayo Stadium requiem mass for the late Baba Raila Odinga.

Speaking emotionally to mourners and the nation, Mwago suggested that Gachagua's absence wasn’t accidental or out of disrespect — but rather a calculated move born of insight, fear, or foresight.

“Former DP Rigathi Gachagua, Riggy G, didn’t attend the requiem mass of Baba Raila Odinga at Nyayo Stadium,” Mwago said.

“He had seen far beyond what eyes can see.”

The cryptic comment has stirred conversations across the political divide. Was Gachagua sensing potential hostility? Or perhaps avoiding a symbolic political moment he couldn't control?

Mwango went further, alluding to a tense atmosphere that even barred key leaders like Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua from addressing mourners during the emotionally charged ceremony.

“Just imagine denying Kalonzo musyoka and Martha Karua the mic to address the people of Kenya at Nyayo Stadium,” Mwago pointed out. “What worse could they have done to Riggy G?”

His words paint a picture of a political arena still raw with division, even amid national mourning.

Gachagua, who has been largely silent since the beginning of Raila Odinga’s final journey, has yet to explain his absence — one that has not gone unnoticed.

The requiem mass, meant to honor the life and legacy of Raila Odinga, also became a reflection of Kenya’s current political state: fraught, fragmented, and deeply symbolic.

“It shall be well,” Mwago concluded, “But we shall never forget.”

As the country continues to bid farewell to one of its most iconic political figures, questions remain — not just about Gachagua’s absence, but about the future of a nation mourning and politically shifting.
