Even though they skipped his funeral on Wedneday, President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga handsomely contributed towards the funeral of former cabinet minister Dalmas Otieno.
The former minister was laid to rest at his Rongo home, Migori County home on Wednesday, in a funeral that was attended by top politicians.
President Ruto led other leaders in contributing to cater for the former minister's funeral with a personal contribution of Ksh. 3 million.
On the other hand, the ODM party leader contributed Ksh. 2 million with Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki contributing Ksh. 500,000.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi gave a huge contribution of Ksh. 1 million while his Energy counterpart James Opiyo Wandayi contributing Ksh. 200,000.
The former lawmaker served as Rongo MP for four terms before losing his seat in 2017.
He had also served as cabinet minister under former Presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
